As the last day of 2018 has arrived, so has my last day serving as 2018 President of the NY CPCU Chapter.  It has been one of the honors of my professional career serving in this role and working with the amazing volunteers that make up this great organization.  My thanks to all the members and others who attended our educational and social programs in 2018 and I hope to see you at future events in 2019 and beyond.

The Chapter provides such a great networking opportunity for insurance professionals and I encourage everyone to get involved as a volunteer and help continue to build the Chapter.  When you see invitations to upcoming events, invite coworkers to attend, and invite brokers or your insurers to participate.  All of us together can make the organization stronger and more effective in serving our industry.

My goals at the beginning of the year were to continue to create and host fun and interesting events, get more brokers involved to make the events true business opportunities, and to get younger people involved with the Chapter.  Oh yeah, and to host a golf tournament again.  To some degree, each of these was successful and I thank the Chapter Board and leadership in supporting me in these efforts.

Martin Ridgers will succeed me as President in 2019 and I look forward to his creativity in continuing to develop the Chapter as a viable Property/Casualty networking and educational organization.  I wish him luck and look forward to providing him the same high degree of support I received from Bob Young, my predecessor.

Thanks again to all of you for an enjoyable 2019.  Now, I look forward to holding the best position in the organization…Immediate Past President.  See you at the 2019 Golf Outing.  Happy New Year.

Steve
